Features

#3 Domed Head Plow Bolts

The #3 Domed Head Plow Bolt is designed with an added layer of steel on top of the fastener’s head. This thicker, domed head provides a greater amount of wear resistance and reduces the likelihood of bolt and blade breakage within your fastened assembly.

Deeper Depth of Square

The #3 Domed Head Plow Bolt also features a deeper depth of square, which provides fuller engagement in square holes and helps to lock the Plow Bolt in place while the nut is tightened during installation.

#3 Flat Head Plow Bolts

The #3 Flat Head Plow Bolt, also known as a standard Plow Bolt, features a flat head design that provides a flush mount and zero clearance within countersunk holes. This style of fastener is a great choice for applications where a low-profile head is needed.

#3 Oversized Head Plow Bolts

This style of Plow Bolt features a larger head size than what is standard for its thread size. #3 Oversized Head Plow Bolts provide a greater amount of wear resistance and are used in applications where the blade is manufactured to accept a larger head size than the hole drilled into the moldboard of the blade.

Baked to Prevent Hydrogen Embrittlement

Our line of plated high-strength 10.9 DIN 6921 Metric Hex Flange Bolts are baked to prevent hydrogen embrittlement.

Baking, also known as de-embrittlement, is a process that helps remove any atomic hydrogen that may have been introduced during the initial electroplating process. This helps the fasteners retain their ductility and prevents any hydrogen embrittlement failures from occurring within your fastened assembly.

Baking also ensures that our line of product meets industry standards for plated 10.9 fasteners.

Why Use a Hex Flange Bolt?

Hex Flange Bolts feature a built-in flange that eliminates the need for a separate washer. Pair this style of fastener with a Hex Flange Nut, Nylon Insert Hex Flange Lock Nut, or an All Metal Hex Flange Lock Nut, and experience superior locking action that is vibration resistant and reduces the likelihood of a failed assembly.

How a Hex Flange Bolt Works

Thanks to the built-in flange, Hex Flange Bolts work to spread the clamping load over a wider area, creating a tighter, more secure bond between the fastened components in your assembly. Hex Flange Bolts are also the preferred choice when fastening together metal to metal components.

What is a Slotted Hex Nut?

Watch the video to learn more about the features and benefits of slotted hex nuts.

Features

Slotted Body

Slotted Hex Nuts feature six slotted sides to allow a cotter pin to freely pass through its body.

This style of fastener is also designed to be used with a bolt, screw, or stud that has received a hole drilled through its threads.

Locking Action Capabilities

Once the Slotted Hex Nut has been tightened, a cotter pin is then inserted through one of the open slots on the Hex Nut, and through the drilled hole on the bolt, screw, or stud.

This is done to lock the assembly in place and prevent the nut from spinning free or loosening within its application.

Slotted Hex Nuts Vs. Castle Nuts

Slotted Hex Nuts are commonly confused with Castle Nuts, which feature a slotted collar that offers a smaller surface area around its six open sides.

This smaller surface area allows for a cotter pin to be wrapped around the Castle Nut to achieve a tighter more compact assembly.
